- Proper control – Ensure authenticity of financial records and efficiency of the firm is well-maintained.
- Enhanced accounting system – Ensure transactions are verified and properly approved to minimize chances of mistakes or frauds.
- Business review – Identify strengths and weaknesses in the business by looking at operational, financial and compliance aspects.
- Asset protection – Assess the means of safeguarding assets and verify their existence.
- Keeps check on errors – Spot mistakes in financial records while conducting audits and notify management to rectify immediately.
- Fraud detection – Perform any ad hoc appraisals, inspections, investigations, examinations or reviews requested by the Audit Committee or by senior management.
- Compliance – Ascertain the extent of compliance with established policies, procedures and instructions.
- Assess potential risks / threats – Recommend improvements in procedures and systems to prevent inefficiencies, pilferage, financial misstatement, etc.
The Role:
- Monitor and manage a portfolio of accounting/ tax clients.
- Undertake in planning, preparation and completion of given assignments.
- Update and finalize clients' management/ financial accounts.
- Update clients on all relevant submissions before the due dates (i.e. tax submission, audit, etc).
- Deal with correspondences from clients and external parties (i.e. IRB, etc) in relation to accounting/ tax implications of their business transactions.
- Perform other related duties assigned by your manager from time to time.
Basic Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a SPM/"O" Level certificate for entry level.
- Possessing a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree or Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Taxation or equivalent is an added advantage.
- Possess own transportation.
- Self-motivated, independent, pro-active, good learning attitude and a team player.
